Lenovo Vibe X3 was first released in December 2015 and has been in the good reviews ever since. Moto X Play was announced almost at the same duration and was released a few months before Vibe X3, in August 2015. Compare Lenovo Vibe X3 vs Moto X Play because of the similar features they promise to deliver. Both these phones come with dual sim-card technology while Moto X Play offers a water resistant coating over its body, which is a rather useful feature. Moto X Play is known for its light weight body that weighs around 168 grams, whereas Vibe X3 weighs almost 175 grams, slightly higher than Moto X Play. Vibe X3 is available for a price of 19,999 rupees in the Indian market whereas the Moto X Play is available for a price of 18,499 rupees.

Processors & Display

Vibe X3 runs on two processors simultaneously, which is its key feature. It comes with two processors, one which is the dual core 1.8 GHz and the other is the quad core 1.44 GHz processor that tends to provide one of the best user experience with its top speed and high reliability. On the other hand, Moto X Play works on the octa core 1.7 GHz high quality processor, which also tends to provide the best performance to the user. Both these processors could be said to be of similar quality and specification, where Vibe X3 runs on two processors while Moto X Play provides the same performance with a single processor. When it comes to display quality, Lenovo Vibe X3 comes with a display screen of size 5.5 inches IPS LCD capacitive screen that supports up to 16.7 M color display. It supports a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels with multitouch support. The screen also comes with a protective layer of Gorilla glass. When it comes to Moto X Play, the display screen comes with a screen size of the same size, with its IPS LCD capacitive screen. It supports the same resolution and comes with the same protection for the screen. Both these screens are suitable for HD video playback and for playing games

Vibe X3 runs on the android operating system v5.1 (Lollipop) with its fresh feel whereas the Moto X Play works on the same OS version. Moto X Play comes with the look and feel of the Google’s own operating system, it being directly administered by Google. Vibe X3 comes with an internal memory storage capacity of 32 or 64 GB, depending on the user’s preference. However, Moto X Play comes with an internal storage capacity of 16 or 32 GB alternatives. Both these phones have the option of using the external storages by utilizing the microSD memory card. However, Vibe X3 does not have a dedicated slot for the memory card and it has to be inserted in the SIM 2 slot. This will sound a little inconvenient for the users who wish to use both the external memory and the second SIM. Vibe X3 utilizes a RAM of size 3 GB, where as Moto X Play runs on a RAM of size 2 GB. Given that both these phones cost almost same, a similar RAM size is expected. But given that Vibe X3 has more ROM space to take care of, it requires a RAM of 3 GB. Both these phones work absolutely fine when it comes to functionality.

Vibe X3 comes with a non removable Li-Po 3600 mAh battery that is expected to work absolutely fine by providing a battery backup time of up to 30 hours on 3G mode. Moto X Play works with a non removable 3630 mAh battery which works at top quality by providing an even more battery backup time of up to 33 hours on 3G mode. Both these phones are well known for their camera quality, where the primary camera provides a picture quality at 21 MP for both these phones. The secondary camera for Vibe X3 works at 8 MP, whereas the secondary camera in Moto X Play works at 5MP, at a lesser quality than Vibe X3. Moto X Play has received some less points for its camera quality and hence Vibe X3 gets better marks in this category. Vibe X3 even provides better quality for video recording at 2160 pixels whereas Moto X play supports video recording at 1080 pixels.

Verdict and Analysis

Another key feature of Vibe X3 is its fingerprint sensor that Moto X Play does not provide. Both these phones have their own advantage over each other, some of which are very good when compared. Vibe X3 is better known for its hardware specifications, memory capacity and camera quality. Moto X Play has its upper hand with its waterproof feature, its screen quality, better operating system feel, battery backup, look and feel of the phone.
